Well(as Ronald Reagan allways started) Well… this is a bit of a sore point, I mean I bought this caddie when I was working away in Nelspruit and my family was in George. Now you can understand the bonding that happened between us… it is like family!! At least, that is the way I see it, but that is only me…. At the moment it is parked in a rented store because there is no parking space in our garage at home. And here is where some family members and I seems to misunderstand each other, why pay for a garage if you don’t use the damn car regularly? Oh, why can’t they understand what we’ve been through all these past years( that’s Beta and me if you still do not get it!!!) I lovingly removed her inners, dressed her in a new silver evening gown, put nice shiny goodies on where every woman wants it, and then they still do not appreciate my feelings for Beta!!

I’m lost for words!! I am planning to give Beta a bit of a face lift soon, and inject some steriods into her. Please visit this site often to see what happened to Beta, or me!!!

Recently Beta was moved from the storage garage to our newly erected carport at home. She now is under the motor cover right next to my bedroom window so that I can keep a close watch on her!!

Monday 18 May 2009 Plans are to start with revamping Beta. I will construct an A-frame and tow her to my brother in King Williams Town where she will get her ‘face lift’.This will take some time as he is a very busy guy in his body shop and workshop, so work on Beta will be done only during quieter times. We will keep you posted. In the mean time I will get some ‘before’ pictures and post it here, check it out soon…..

I use to own a Yamaha Dragstar(Hardley a Harley) but my wife (Frieda) is the proud owner of it now. So that is the reason I have the Bee-Emm. I must say that I am enjoying the R1100S a lot, it handles well and has got enough speed and power. The Dragstar has got a new spray job done recently(yes your’e correct, I must re-spray everything) and a few bits and pieces fitted to it, we are far from finish on the 1100 cruiser. I must say… Frieda realy looks cool on it, I just like riding behind her and admire the view…. Stunning!!! Well, the Bee-Emm is still realy as I got it, except for a few good wash and polish sessions!! But rest assured, I already have plans on a new paint job for the bike… watch this space!!!

I started cycling as a way of keeping fit. As long as I can remember I re-sprayed all of my bicyles, including this one. I also modified the frame a bit by fitting a rear end of carbon fibre and also a carbon fibre fork. The rear stays had to be bonded onto the aluminium frame and I had to manufacture a special fitting end that fitted onto the downtube and then connect to the stays. All of these was bonded by a special glue I got from Araldite. I did some research on the internet and found this site that glued(bonded) a complete racing bike together. The same glue is also used in the aircraft industry bonding different sections of the airframe together. After completing the frame, it was sanded down and resprayed. I also fitted some parts to it that is lighter to reduce the total weight of the bike. I wanted to race and teach Lance Armstrong a few things, unfortunately I did not meet the guy on the road and I stopped cycling in the mean time due to my work situation. I see Lance is on the comeback trail now, so maybe I should also think of doing the same…. he-he-he!!!

Biedouw Valley is a fertile valley about 35 miles from Clanwilliam, situated between the Biedouw and Tra-Tra Mountains. The valley is watered by the Biedouw River. Some 200 million year-old fossilised shellfish deposits are found here. In a good rainy season, the area is one of the richest flower areas and is visited by many tourists. The area’s attraction is enhanced by farmers allowing their herds to graze elsewhere during the flower season.

About 20 miles away is the Wupperthal Mission station built in a valley surrounded by mountains. The isolated station accessible only by a winding pass, is renowned for its beauty and peaceful atmosphere. The locals are trained in a variety of skills, of which shoe-making is the most famous. Wupperthal was named after the town in the Rhine Valley in Germany where the first station of the Rhenish Mission Society was established.

This tour into the Cedar berg mountains and Clanwilliam area is well worth, especially during the wildflower time ( August/September) Apart from the beautiful moutains the flowers this time of the year is something exceptional. Visit Paternoster, Darling and Wupperthal, you wont be dissapointed!!

Discover the wild beautiful side of the Garden Route on the farm ‘Misgunst’, situated on the Indian seaboard near the village of Vleesbaai - home to the unique Vleesbaai 4×4Dune Route.

Apart from the thrills of a vehicle friendly 4×4 dune route challenge, there is also the option of a lush camping area that includes ablution facilities with hot water, a picnic on the beach, fishing, hiking along the beach - not to mention the thrill of experiencing some of the unique fauna & flora found only in the Southern Cape!

A true outing for the whole family! “… fun for the whole family and presents a whole new challenge for up-country folk… ideal place to hone your sand driving skills… the rest of the family can relax and unwind on the beach…”
“…a really enjoyable dune ride 12km of pure fun that can provide drivers of all skill levels an enjoyable couple of hours. At times you’re only a stone’s throw from the water’s edge, although no beach driving is involved.”

We did this route a few times and it is quit challenging in places. It is 12km long and have a difficulty rating of 3-4. You will have to let down the pressure of your tyres to around 1 Bar. You will soon find that it is best to do so around the first bend of the route. There are a few challenging dunes and some beautiful scenery. The last stop at the beach where you can have a picnic and rest a little is nice. It is here at The Dune where you can see how the enthusiasts test their vehicles and sand driving skills, sometimes we just smile at some peoples approach to this monster dune!!

West of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa and comprises of approximately 270 000 ha. of unspoiled, rugged mountainous terrain. Starting in the East at Komdomo, the road leads through the rugged beauty of the “Grootrivier” Gorge on its winding path through this pristine conservancy, all the way towards Willowmore in the West. A total distance of about 203 km. The area offers a wide range of eco-recreational opportunities as well as an unique wilderness experience!

We did this route with our Jeep Grand Cherokee and Infanta camping trailer with our friends Japie and Una Breedt. What an unforgetful experience!! The route is breathtakingly beautiful and the route quite challenging in places, rated at 3-4 difficulty.

God promised in His Word that he will never leave or forsake us, and He is faithful to us …always!! We are the ones that are moving away from God, but he is always there, waiting for us to return to Him and His everlasting love. I often just want to weep when I think of His wonderful and unchanging love for me. I believe God wants us to live a life that is driven and guided by love, love inspired and coming from Him, if we can only let Him do this in our lives. But often there are so many things keeping us from living in His love. Broken relationships, financial hardship and other thing that this world we are living in is loading on us. Let us strive to live in His love and listen to His soft voice inside of us, and by doing this the world will get a better place for us all to live in…….
