22 Jan 2009My Bicycle
I started cycling as a way of keeping fit. As long as I can remember I re-sprayed all of my bicyles, including this one. I also modified the frame a bit by fitting a rear end of carbon fibre and also a carbon fibre fork. The rear stays had to be bonded onto the aluminium frame and I had to manufacture a special fitting end that fitted onto the downtube and then connect to the stays. All of these was bonded by a special glue I got from Araldite. I did some research on the internet and found this site that glued(bonded) a complete racing bike together. The same glue is also used in the aircraft industry bonding different sections of the airframe together. After completing the frame, it was sanded down and resprayed. I also fitted some parts to it that is lighter to reduce the total weight of the bike. I wanted to race and teach Lance Armstrong a few things, unfortunately I did not meet the guy on the road and I stopped cycling in the mean time due to my work situation. I see Lance is on the comeback trail now, so maybe I should also think of doing the same…. he-he-he!!!
